Safety during Schoolies is the first priority of the Queensland Government and local councils, and we're working closely with businesses and the community to focus on everyone’s safety.

The government does not promote participation in Schoolies but seeks to minimise disruption to communities and to enhance the safety and responsible behaviour of school leavers who attend Schoolies.

A statewide safety campaign — the Safer Schoolies Initiative — is now underway to inform and educate graduating Year 12 students and their parents about health and safety, and personal rights and responsibilities during end-of-year activities.

The Safer Schoolies Initiative is a whole-of-government response, involving the departments of Communities, Treasury, Justice and Attorney-General, Education, Health, Tourism, Transport, Emergency Services and Police, as well as local councils and numerous volunteering and community partners.
